Duties:   Under the supervision of the Director of Community Services, the Certified Behavior Support Specialist will support people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD) and severe co-occurring behavioral health and/or psychiatric conditions. This position is responsible for monitoring, redirecting and modifying severe behaviors, recording progress and performance, administering intensive behavior intervention programs, and performing a variety of clerical duties. Additionally, the Certified Behavior Support Specialist will provide coaching, modeling and development opportunities to staff.

 

Requirements:   The Certified Behavior Support Specialist must meet one of the following educational requirements:

 

  1. Bachelor's Degree and one (1) year experience in related field with ID and Behavioral Health
  2. Associate Degree and three (3) years experience in related field with ID and Behavioral Health
  3. No Degree but five (5) years of experience with ID and Behavioral Health
